Collin Bank

Collin Bank's organizers began the initial steps of the formation process in February 2006. The bank's current President & CEO, Richard "Ro" O'Connor, joined the team in October 2006, and the process of pursuing a bank charter began in earnest at that point. The bank's regulatory application with the Texas Department of Banking (TDB) and deposit insurance application with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) were filed in January 2007. Preliminary approval from the FDIC was received in July 2007 and from the TDB in August 2007 allowing the bank to begin the capitalization process.

Investor meetings began in October 2007 and the regulatory minimum capitalization target of $22.5 million was exceeded on February 15, 2008 after a short four-and-a-half month capital campaign. The bank opened six days later on February 21, 2008, as the first bank chartered in Collin County to open its initial office in Frisco in over 100 years. The bank's capital raise, the largest in Collin County financial institution history, reached $29.1 million at the conclusion of the initial offering. The vast majority of the bank's capital has been contributed by members of the local business community, adding to the sense of localness that drives the Bank.
