About Henderson State Bank
The business of banking began in Henderson, Nebraska in 1903. By 1907 Henderson had two banks. One was knows as the "Friesen" bank and the other the "Kroeker" bank. During the Great Depression both of these banks closed. In October, 1943 the current Henderson State Bank was chartered under the leadership of Dean Sack.
The bank was primarily an ag bank with seventy-five percent of the loans in 1943 being made to farmers, fifteen percent to businesses and industries and the balance to individuals who were wage earners. Throughout the years the bank changed ownership several times. It was purchased by the current shareholder group in 2006 with a focus on agricultural and commercial business. Shortly after this the bank expanded is trade territory with branches in York and Greeley, Nebraska.
The current facility in Henderson was constructed in 2003.
