Membership in a Credit Union is limited to persons who have a common bond. The common bonds of those who are eligible for membership in the BUFFALO METROPOLITAN FEDERAL CREDIT UNION are:

Persons who live, work, worship, or attend school in, and businesses and other legal entities located in Erie County, New York are now eligible to become a member of the Buffalo Metropolitan Federal Credit Union.  Also included are spouses of persons who died while within the field of membership of this Credit Union, employees of this Credit Union, volunteers in the community, members of their immediate family or household, and organization of such persons.

The BUFFALO METROPOLITAN FEDERAL CREDIT UNION is a not-for-profit financial cooperative fully owned and operated by the membership for the membership. The BMFCU's main philosophy is to provide reasonably priced financial services with exceptional personalized service to its members.

The BUFFALO METROPOLITAN FEDERAL CREDIT UNION pays dividends from available earnings after a transfer to reserves is made. The portion of the dividends a member receives is proportional to the number of shares owned.

The BUFFALO METROPOLITAN FEDERAL CREDIT UNION offers members many financial services in addition to share accounts (savings), share draft accounts (checking), and loan services. Some of these additional services are Credit Cards, Debit Cards, Traditional IRA's, Roth IRA's, Education IRA's, Share Certificates (Certificate of Deposit), Mortgage Loans, Home Improvement Loans, Home Equity Line of Credit, Youth Accounts, Holiday Accounts, Loan Protection Insurance, and 24 hour 7 day a week financial services through our ATM and Audio Response systems.
