Now that the merger with Community Choice FCU has been completed, the membership eligibility guidelines have changed. In credit unions, we call this the Field of Membership (FOM).

Essentially, all Clarian Health employees and their immediate family or members of their household may join. However, now anybody who lives, works, attends school, or worships in the following zip codes may also be members: 46201, 46203, 46218, and 46225.

As a credit union, we are different from banks in the following ways.  Clarian Federal Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial institution owned and operated by its members.  Our profits go back to our members in the form of better rates on loans and deposits, as opposed to going to shareholders.  All banks and credit unions have one basic thing in common.  Depositors put money in checking and savings accounts and the financial institution loans that money to others.  Big banks make many big dollar loans to businesses.  Clarian Federal Credit Union makes no business loans.  We only make loans to people, our members.

Though Clarian Federal Credit Union is a relatively small financial institution, we realize that members want to have the availability of their funds wherever and whenever they need them.  In an effort to meet this need, as well as provide convenience, we have established relationships with other credit unions.   These relationships enable us to provide over 125 free ATM’s in central Indiana and over 3,500 ATM’s in 41 states and territories, in addition to more than 3,100 branches nationwide offering deposits, withdraws, loan payments, etc.
