Eligibility

• Los Angeles and Orange County residents who are of Japanese ancestry.
• Individuals whose occupation is in gardening, landscaping, horticulture and/or nursery in Orange County
• Members of the Japanese American Cultural and Community Center
• Members or employees of a Nikkei Credit Union Select Group (See list below.)
• Immediate family members of current Nikkei Credit Union members

Nikkei Credit Union is a progressive, full-service financial institution serving the Nikkei Community. We provide quality service as a not-for-profit financial cooperative, owned and democratically controlled by our membership.

We began our charter as Gardena Valley Japanese Credit Union when twelve members pooled together their funds in 1952. Since then, we've grown to nearly six thousand members with assets nearing $60 Million.

Our growth and success gave us reason to recharge in 1998 with a new name and a new look: Nikkei Credit Union. Now in 2007, our golden 55th Year, we're more proud than ever of our success - and we're determined to help shape yours.
