Joining Qside Federal Credit Union is easy.  With a minimum deposit of just $25, simply open a basic savings account with us and instantly have access to our long list of our convenient, money-saving products and services.

Qside memberships are for life – even if you change jobs, relocate or retire.  And once you join, your family members are also eligible to join.

Who is Eligible to Join?

1) Members of our local Queens community, including:

• Persons who live, work, worship or attend school in, as well as businesses and other legal entities located within certain areas of East Central and West Central Queens.  Areas included are Flushing, Auburndale, Murray Hill, East Elmhurst, Corona and North Beach.If you reside in Queens, there are many opportunities to qualify for membership. Contact the credit union for specifics.

2) People who work for select employer groups, including:

• Employees of Consolidated Edison, Inc., and its wholly owned subsidiaries: Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc., Consolidated Edison Solutions, Inc., Consolidated Edison Communications, Inc., Consolidated Edison Development, Inc., or Consolidated Edison Energy, Inc., who work in Bronx, Kings, New York, Queens, Richmond and Westchester Counties, New York
• Employees of the Long Island Water Corporation who work in Lynbrook, New York
• Employees of the New York Power Authority who work at the Indian Point Nuclear Power Plant #3 or the Charles Poletti Power Plant #6 in Buchnan or Astoria, New York
• Employees or tenant-stockholders of Big Six Towers Housing Corporation, Inc.
• Employees of Clean Harbors Environmental Services,Inc., who work in or are paid from Brooklyn, New York.
• Employees of Cummins Allison Corporation
• Employees of Queensboro Toyota
• Employees or members of Deepdale Gardens Community Council, Inc. in Little Neck, NY    

3) Members' families, including:

• Members’ husbands, wives, sons, daughters, grandsons, granddaughters, siblings and their spouses.

Qside Federal Credit Union is a not-for-profit, cooperative financial institution owned and controlled by its members – the people who use its products and services.

Like all other credit unions, Qside is based on the concept of “people helping people”.

Unlike banks, we return all profits to members in the form of higher dividends on savings, lower interest rates on loans, lower fees and expanded services.  Members have a say in how the credit union is managed and can vote and participate in annual meetings, help elect the Board of Directors and serve as volunteers.

Qside was originally chartered as the Waterside Federal Credit Union in 1940 by a group of employees from Con Edison’s Waterside Power Plant.  In February 2003, we moved our facility to Flushing, Queens and adopted our current name, “Qside Federal Credit Union”.  We chose 'Q' to reflect our expansion into the Queens community and beyond, and 'side' to maintain the connection with our past.

Today, Qside has more than $45 million in assets and serves over 8,500 members with a field of membership that includes people who live and work in our local Queens community as well as individual employee groups.  As we have grown, so has our commitment to our members-first, not-for-profit.
