Montrose is located in the center of the Uncompahgre Valley on the Western Slope of the Continental Divide, 269 miles south west of Denver. Montrose County is the Colorado that people dream about. The Colorado Rockies lie directly east of Montrose and the spires of the San Juan Mountains sparkle just 25 miles south. Grand Mesa, the largest flat top mountain in the world, looms 40 miles to the north, while the world renowned hunting grounds of the Uncompahgre Plateau frame the western sunset.

The credit union was started then on the concept of "PEOPLE HELPING PEOPLE," and that is still our main goal today!
