Service Credit Union

Eligible members in the USA include:

• Individuals who live or work in the State of New Hampshire, with the exception of Coos County
• Individuals who live or work in the towns of Falmouth, Mashpee, Bourne and Sandwich Massachusetts.
• Families of credit union members "wherever they may live or work"
• Select employer groups

Eligible members in the U.S. Military include:

Membership into Service Credit Union is now available to all military and civilian employees of the Department of Defense worldwide*. Membership to Service Credit Union will include U.S. civilian employees and standby, inactive and active duty military personnel of the Department of Defense located worldwide. This consists of Army, Air Force, Navy, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, Air National Guard, Army National Guard, Reserves as well as civilian and military retirees and family members.

Service Credit Union was founded in 1957, originally chartered to serve the military, and civilian employees, at Pease Air Force Base in New Hampshire. Today, Service Credit Union provides financial services to over 130,000 members residing all across the U.S. and around the world. We invite you to travel through history with us.

Credit unions are owned by the credit union's members. Members combine their savings to create a pool of funds from which other members can borrow. The income earned on loans and investments is returned to members in the form of higher savings rates, lower loan rates and additional products and services.

Plus, credit unions are democratically controlled. Members meet once a year to elect a volunteer board of directors from the membership to oversee the credit union's operations.

Service Credit Union is operated by professional management under the direction of a volunteer board of directors. And in keeping with the democratic tradition of credit unions, individual members still get a say in how SCU is run.
